If you live in Encino, CA and are in search of mole removal treatment, then you have come to the right place! The Mole Doctor® has clinics in Thousand Oaks and Beverly Hills that will be excited to serve you! Our clinics use a highly effective and specialized form of radiofrequency ablation to take care of your moles in a precise and painless fashion. This is a relatively uncommon technique, used by relatively few clinics in the United States. We highly encourage you to give us consideration for your mole removal needs. If you take and submit our Mole Quiz™, one of our Patient Coordinators will be in touch with you. We hope we can help with your needs and are excited to meet and serve you!

Moles are very common skin growths, as most people will develop between 10-40 moles on their body over the course of their lifetime. They can vary in many different ways. They can vary in color, size, height, and other factors as well. Here at The Mole Doctor™, we tend to distinguish different mole sizes by a few different categories. There are moles that are about the size of a pen mark, the size of a Sharpie mark, the size of a pencil eraser, and those that are larger. Moles that are larger than a pencil eraser require special attention, since particularly large moles are more likely to be cancerous. This is also true of moles that are discolored. Moles that are flesh-colored tend to be relatively benign, but moles that are black require special attention, and maybe even a biopsy by the doctor to scan for cancer. In general, though, you shouldn’t be scared of moles. Most are harmless, but it is healthy to get into the habit of keeping an eye on any moles you have and receiving somewhat regular mole checkups by a dermatologist.

Is Mole Removal Safe on All Skin Colors?
People of all colors and stripes are susceptible to skin lesions. However, different skin types may require different methods of care for the same types of lesions. Let’s think of laser-based removal as an example. Some laser treatments work by targeting cells with melanin and destroying those cells. However, patients with dark skin have higher levels of melanin in all their cells, so this treatment can harm mole cells and healthy cells alike! However, Doctor Mole™ does not use this kind of treatment! We use a modern radiofrequency ablation treatment that can precisely treat moles without harming the surrounding tissue, and will not indiscriminately attack cells with melanin. That means patients with Olive, Black, or other types of skin are in good hands with us!
