It’s important to understand the difference between different kinds of moles, because some moles are dangerous, while others are benign. Moles that are flesh-colored, small, or circular are more common and more likely to be benign, while large, black, misshapen moles are more likely to be dangerous. No matter what, you can definitely get your moles examined by a doctor, whether you think they’re dangerous or not. Moles that might look normal or benign to you might appear to be dangerous to your doctor, whose expertise and experience gives them a great foundation with which to serve you.
How expensive is mole removal?
Mole removal’s costs are sometimes a source of anxiety for patients. Amid economic uncertainty and different income situations, different people have different needs in terms of pricing. We definitely understand and sympathize with your concerns. The price of treatment can depend on many different factors. First, there is the type of treatment that you get. Cryotherapy, laser removal, and our radiofrequency ablation technique can cost different amounts for treatment. There is also the size of the moles, and how many you would like to have removed. No matter what, though, we want our procedures to be accessible so we can give you the care that you need. That’s why we have options to give you some help paying for your treatment. Options like Cherry can help you finance your treatment, and your insurance provider may reimburse you for some or all of your treatment, depending on the benefits you get.
When a patient wants more than one mole to be treated, the price of treatment will generally increase. This makes sense, because providing more services generally raises costs in general. Mitigating this, though, is that we here at The Mole Doctor® generally charge less for each mole when we treat multiple moles. For example if we were to charge $500 to remove one mole, we might charge less than $1,000 to treat two moles in the same session – though these numbers are just examples and specifics will depend on your specific case.
If the moles you would like treated are particularly large in size, this may cause the cost of treatment to increase as well. These moles may require great care to remove and as such could drive up the price of treatment. In spite of this, it is particularly important to seek treatment on such moles, because as discussed above, there is a higher risk of cancer associated with these moles. The price of moles can also be determined by their area on the body. Moles that are very hard to reach will tend to be a bit more expensive than moles on easy areas on the forearm.
There are also some options that patients have in paying for their mole removal treatment. One such option is getting help from their insurance provider. If their treatment is only for cosmetic reasons, many insurance providers will not provide any reimbursement, but if the moles are potentially cancerous, there is good hope to get some money back from them. Your specific surgeon may or may not take insurance, but you might be able to get some money back from your insurance provider after paying your surgeon. Another option for help paying for your treatment is Cherry, a service that will help you pay for some of your treatment in monthly installments if you would have some trouble paying for it all upfront.
